Engine Management system

Basically, an engine management system is an electronic control unit (ECU) which receives signals from various sensors, makes calculations and then sends output signals to carry out various operations and functions around and within the engine. It works by receiving information from several or one sensor around the vehicle and then uses the information to make decisions and carry out certain actions in the vehicle. It reduces emissions and achieves better fuel economy.
